I put a link to a new blog on my main blog but I'll be honest and say that I'm not completely thrilled that it exists. It's stupid, I know, but I'm pregnant so it's ok.
The problem is that it's a blog for the girl who was born on the same day as Ellie and no matter how hard I try I tend to compare the two girls too much. But there is something about the fact that they were born on the same day that makes it hard to not look at her and compare her to Ellie.
I think really that's not even the problem. The problem is that her Mommy decided to stay home instead of returning to work, and even though I know that daycare is good for Ellie, there is a part of me that is jealous of the time my friend gets to spend with her daughter. This story sums it up well.
So I've now added her blog because yes I do want to keep up with it and yes her daughter is adorable. But feel free to tell me mine is better. Oh, and for her daughter's big girl room, she also happened to pick the bedding that I originally wanted (the one I ordered that was back-ordered until June), so feel free to tell me Ellie's room is cuter. LOL.
Hahaha. I hope everyone knows that I'm mostly kidding. In a "I know I'm being stupid" sort of way.

I know this is totally not going to make a difference -- you will miss time with Ellie no matter what -- but the friends of mine whose kids are in daycare have transitioned to school so much more easily than the ones who have not. Because they're used to the routine of going someplace in the morning. They're also surprisingly well-adjusted and aren't too dependent on their parents, they are curious and not afraid of the world. Those are great qualities that spell success and happiness later in life. I think Ellie is getting a great foundation. Plus it's obvious how loved she feels. You're doing a great job!
BTW I noticed the bedding. I thought, "hey! wait a minute! That was supposed to be Ellie's!" lol
I'm with you, missy!
Ellie's room blows that other one out of the water. I'm stunned. How do you have the time to do that? It really is spectacular. I love the butterflies trailing off to the corner... can you come do my room now :)
Thanks, Spleeness! You said all the things we agree with, but it's always nice to hear it from other people as well.
Isn't that funny about the bedding?
KC - Ellie's room didn't take long to do at all. And it didn't cost much. Hobby Lobby is the key (though I don't know if MD/VA has those stores). It only took us a day to paint. Ellie was out of her room for one nap period and then back in it that evening. I'd love to help you decorate your room, but you need to move to CO first.
